Nutrition Affairs

The University Nutrition Unit of Quchan University of Advanced Technology is one of the subdivisions of the Student Affairs Administration. Its mission is to provide meals for students and to scientifically monitor their quality and quantity. With a central campus dining hall and a dormitory dining hall, this unit is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and distribution of student meals for lunch and dinner using high-quality and hygienic ingredients. Meal reservation and distribution in the campus and dormitory self-service dining halls are carried out through the university’s nutrition automation system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting student surveys on nutrition services in order to improve planning.
  • Preparing and organizing the monthly meal plan and publishing it on the website in accordance with students’ feedback.
  • Analyzing meals served in the dining halls based on standard criteria.
  • Monitoring and resolving hardware and software issues related to the nutrition automation system.
  • Proposing solutions to improve student nutrition conditions and services.
  • Responding to students’ requests through the university website.
  • Inspecting the quality of raw ingredients used in food preparation in terms of standard certification marks, production and expiration dates, and apparent characteristics such as color and taste within the kitchen.
  • Supervising all stages of raw material preparation and cooking in terms of hygiene and quality standards.
  • Supervising the hygienic, qualitative, and quantitative aspects of food distribution to students and assessing student satisfaction.
  • Supervising the personal hygiene of kitchen staff and checking personnel health cards.
  • Supervising the hygiene of the kitchen and self-service dining areas in terms of cleanliness and disinfection.
  • Conducting daily inspections of the self-service dining halls by specialists.
  • Reviewing students’ complaints and suggestions regarding nutrition services and forwarding them to the Student Affairs Administration.
  • Preparing weekly reports on the contractor’s performance.
  • Activating students’ meal cards.
  • Settling students’ meal card accounts.
  • Providing the contractor with daily cooking statistics in accordance with the relevant guidelines.
  • Submitting statistics on payments received from forgotten meal coupons, free meal coupons, and similar items, as well as account settlement statistics, to the Head of Nutrition Affairs at the end of each month.
